Ethereum poker rules

A standard deck of cards of 52 sheets with equivalent suits is used most often for Eth poker. 

Several participants play (2 or more, up to 10 players at one table). The card’s  values are arranged in descending order from the ace and beyond (king, queen, jack, 10, …, 2). An ace can be considered both as a low card for the formation of a sequence (street) up to 5 inclusive, and as a high card (in a combination of ace-king-queen-jack-10). The game consists of several phases (depending on the type of Eth poker), that is, rounds of betting (streets). Each of them begins with mandatory (forced) bets (big blind and small blind) and the distribution of new cards. After the cards are dealt, each player has the option to place a bet or leave the game. The winner is the one whose five-card combination is the best, or the one who can force other players out of the game with bets or bluff bets and remain alone until the showdown.

Types of Ethereum poker

• Draw poker. 5 card draw poker is one of the simplest and most common Eth poker varieties.

How to play Ethereum Texas Hold’em on the poker sites:

• straight: five cards in order of any suit, for example: 5♦ 4♥ 3♠ 2♦ T♦. Ace can both start the order and end it. In this example, T♦ starts the combination and its value is one, and 5♦ is considered the highest card in Ethereum poker. The lowest street (from five to ace) is sometimes called the “wheel”, the highest (from ace to ten) – “Broadway”.
• three of a kind, set : three cards of the same value, for example: 10♣ 10♥ 10♠
• two pairs: two pairs of cards, for example: 5♣ 5♠ 7♥ 7♣.
• one pair: two cards of the same value, for example: 10♥ 10♠.
• high card: none of the above combinations, for example (the combination is called “high ace”): A♦ 9♦ 8♠ 6♣ 4♣.

Some variants of Eth poker also use a Four Flush combination, four cards of one suit and one card of another suit (provided that no other combination is created), which in its position is between one pair and two pairs.

If the combinations match, the combination with higher cards is stronger, for example, 9♣ 9♠ 5♥ 5♣ 3♠ is higher than 6♣ 6♠ 4♥ 4♣ K♠, and the combination 6♠ 5♦ 4♥ 3♠ 2♦ is higher than 5♦ 4♥ 3♠ 2♠ T♠.

If the combinations and the highest card match (if it is among 5 open cards), the winnings are divided equally between Ethereum poker players with the same combination. In case of a match, the first high card is compared with the second or third (in the case of a pair and three high cards).

In some varieties of Ethereum poker (High-Low), the winnings can be divided equally between players who have the strongest combination of cards of any value in their hands and the weakest combination of unpaired cards with a value of no more than 8, for example: a player can simultaneously have the strongest and weakest combination of cards in his hand.

In games with a joker, the five of a kind combination – four of a kind and a joker, for example: T♥ T♦ T♣ T♠ J is considered the highest combination, that is, it is valued in  Ethereum poker even higher than Royal Flush.

• all-in (make a bet on all the money)
• call  (bet the same amount as the opponent has bet)
• fold (refuse further participation and discard cards).

The betting round ends when all Ethereum poker have made equal bets or folded.
